Flagged a $35,000 Filing Difference
After the July 1, 2026 appropriation vote, Matthew compared the Board-approved resolution with the state DLGF approval and identified a $35,000 difference in the Cumulative Fund amount. He asked DLGF to review the filing and clarify the correction process.
Requested the Records Behind Major Spending
Following the township's 2026 public-safety appropriations, Matthew requested Gateway, DLGF, and supporting procurement records so the Board and public could verify how approved funds and major purchases were being carried out.
Supported Full-Time Paramedic Staffing
In April 2024, Matthew moved to approve the resolution addressing full-time paramedic firefighter salaries after the Board reviewed the staffing and budget details. The motion passed 2-0.

The trustee administers township government and handles many of its day-to-day responsibilities, including township funds, property, assistance, and services assigned to the township.
Township Advisory Board
Madison Township's three-member Advisory Board provides legislative and financial oversight. The board acts on budgets, appropriations, financial matters, and other decisions requiring board action.
Oversight Is the Job
Indiana assigns township advisory boards specific financial and legislative responsibilities. Good oversight requires board members to understand what is being presented, ask questions, and make an independent decision.

Matthew Pranger, EdD, serves on the Madison Township Advisory Board and teaches at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, where his work focuses on technology, data literacy, and decision-making.
His community service includes the WellSpring board of directors and the Mooresville Lions Club, where he currently serves as Treasurer.
That combination of education, technology, local government, and community service shapes a practical approach to public office: review the information, ask questions, listen to residents, and make decisions based on what best serves Madison Township.
